Fin de l’aventure !

Après presque dix années de projets passionnants, nous avons décidé de mettre fin à Pangaïa. Pas de regrets, car l’aventure fut belle ; elle se poursuivra sous d’autres formes et dans d’autres lieux.
Merci à toutes celles et ceux que nous avons croisés au cours de ces nombreux tournages ; le souvenir de belles rencontres nous accompagnera dans nos futurs projets. Belle route à vous !

After almost ten years of exciting projects, we have decided to put an end to Pangaïa. We have no regrets, though, because it’s been a wonderful adventure, which will continue in other forms and in other places.
We’d like to thank everyone we’ve met on our many shoots, and the memories of these wonderful encounters will stay with us in our future projects. All the best to you!

La capitainerie de Port-Miou

A Cassis, sur le site de la capitainerie de Port-Miou, se déroule un chantier d’insertion et de formation qualifiante aux métiers du patrimoine soutenu par la Fondation du patrimoine et Total Foundation.
Nous avons suivi Pierre-Yves qui, après quatre ans de chômage, suit une formation d’agent d’entretien du bâtiment (AEB).
Menée par Acta Vista cette formation conduit une restauration dans les règles de l’art, axée sur la transmission par le geste professionnel.
A l’issue des travaux, la capitainerie deviendra la porte d’entrée du Parc national des Calanques, un lieu de visite et de sensibilisation pour les promeneurs et touristes à l’entrée du parc.

In Cassis (Bouches-du-Rhône, France), on the site of the harbor master’s office in Port-Miou, there is an integration and qualifying training course in heritage jobs supported by Fondation du patrimoine and Total Foundation.
We followed Pierre-Yves who, after four years of unemployment, is training as a building maintenance officer (AEB).
Conducted by Acta Vista, this training leads to a state-of-the-art restoration, focused on transmission through professional gestures.
At the end of the works, the harbor master’s office will become the gateway to the Calanques National Park, a place of visit and awareness for walkers and tourists at the entrance to the park.

Ivan Cooper

C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous apprenons le décès de Ivan Cooper.
Nous avons eu la chance de le rencontrer et de l’interviewer pour notre film à Derry. Né en 1944, il était protestant. Il fût l’un des leaders du mouvements des droits civiques en Irlande du Nord ce qui lui valut des attaques de la part des unionistes tout au long de sa vie. Lui restera pacifiste toute sa vie.
En novembre 2018 il nous confiait: « J’espère avant de mourir voir une Irlande réunifiée, mais j’aimerais que cela se passe par des moyens non violents ».

It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Ivan Cooper.
We had the chance to meet him, interview him for our movie in Derry.
Born in 1944, he was Protestant. He was one of the leaders of the civil rights movement in Six Counties, which led to attacks by Unionists throughout his life. He will remain pacifist all his life.
In November 2018, he was telling us: « Someday before I die, I hope to see a united Ireland, but I want to see it by non violent means ».

Rencontres entre jeunes catholiques et protestants

A Derry, nous sommes avec les associations qui travaillent à créer des liens entre jeunes issus des communautés catholiques et protestantes. Les incertitudes liées au Brexit inquiètent les communautés et font craindre un rétablissement de la frontière entre l’Irlande du Nord et la république d’Irlande.

In Derry, we are with the associations working to connect young people from Catholic and Protestant communities. Uncertainty about Brexit is a source of concern for communities and fears of a recovery of the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Pangaïa est en tournage au Chiapas

Une partie de l’équipe Pangaïa est actuellement en tournage au Mexique. Plus particulièrement dans la région du Chiapas, région autonome où les habitants s’opposent depuis plus de vingt ans aux tentatives de vente de leurs terres à des multinationales étrangères (photo Leo Ks).

Tom McHugh a interprété pour nous « Back home in Derry » chanson emblématique écrite par Bobby Sands. Nous avons enregistré cette interprétation au Peadar O’Donnell’s, célèbre et très beau pub de Derry.
